Makeshift Magazine Issue #4 Launch Party

That's right! It's that special time again. We can barely contain ourselves but hopefully you can because if you go on some kind of art-and-music-starved rampage prior to the party, we'll feel pretty bad. Sooo...without further ado, we'd like to announce (cue trupmets here)...

...the celebration of Makeshift Magazine #4, 'Tomorrow, Today' at Whammy Bar, St. Kevin's Arcade on K'rd. Friday, 28 November with local bands, locally-created art, VJs, free cupcakes, poetry, drawing boards, games and more. Pieces created by local artists will adorn the venue including paintings, stage décor, video art and interactive artworks...

Featuring:
Tommy ILL & Buck Beauchamp
The Naked & Famous
Mr. Hayday
Ice Cream Soldiers

…and Tourettes, manning the helm as the evening’s emcee!

Entry into the event includes a copy of the magazine, so everyone will have the chance to see what new and up-and-coming artists New Zealand has to offer.

But wait there's more! Early-birds will get one of the 250 limited edition, hand-numbered magazine packs while stocks last. AND! The gracious folks at Popup have provided us with over $200 worth of collectible, designer art toys you could win just by coming along to the gig!

Make sure to save the date and get yourself and your friends to Whammy Bar on Friday, November 28th to have a rousing good time!

What: Makeshift Magazine Issue #4 Launch Event
When: Friday, November 28th, doors at 9pm.
Where: Whammy Bar, St. Kevin’s Arcade, K’rd

A Day For Night

“As current Western society becomes increasingly filled with fears for the future, its art and entertainment consciously insulates its audience with the language and images of nostalgia. To critique and comment on contemporary culture through distorted versions of the past has become a fundamental aspect of postmodernism.” *
