Always delighting and frequently contributing Makeshift artist, thisisrabbit was recently interviewed by the ever-creative writer and poet Renee Liang for New Zealand creatives' go-to-website, The Big Idea. The vlog (video blog!) interview was sparked by Renee's own interactions with street art, which led her to enquire further; in this interview she delves into the message behind street art, street art vs. graffiti, and ownership rights. thisisrabbit's work can be found all over Auckland, from dancing rocks on K' Road to wobbling mustachioed jelly on Symonds Street. He is an ever-present force within the street art community and art community in general. His work amazes and intrigues as, with just a few lines, it portrays several different narratives and tends to open up a playful dialogue with viewers. In this interview he eloquently speaks about his thoughts on street art and gives some due praise to Cut Collective. You can see a collection of thisisrabbit's work compiled by Renee on youtube or view his work on his flickr page.
